Bio
I am, Derek Allen, a 23 year old graduate of Florida State University with a Bachelors of Science in Information Technology. I believe in producing elegant, accessible, and usable websites.
I became fascinated with technology at a very early age. My father was a government executive, so when computers were first being introduced into the workplace, he brought home one of the first generations of PCs. That computer had a 33mhz processor, and eventually became mine to tinker with. I recall playing King's Quest from a floppy on a DOS operating system. These early experiences lead to the development of my passion for technology.
Through out my primary and secondary education I have gravitated around technology courses. Through out middle school I took typing and computer design classes. In high school I took a HTML course that would start my web design career. I did so well in the course the teacher made me webmaster for the school's website.
My formal technology education didn't stop there. I decided to make it official and major in Information Technology at Florida State University. I specialized in web design, with a focus in usability and interface design. I've been designing websites for over seven years, and I don't plan on stopping. Please check out the Education section for a detailed listing of courses that I have taken.
